Hey, thanks for this. I'm usually not too anal about thumbnails and that sort of thing, but I did notice the seemingly arbitrary cropping kind of altering what I expected from an image after I committed a post, which was a little frustrating. I'm definitely going to set up a template for myself in case I do make a thumbnail I want to retain coherence in the future, and you doing the work to find those specs is a big help. Also thanks for mentioning the 'smart' crop feature, which I didn't even realize was there, much less enabled by default - last thing I need is an algorithm trying to help me decide what the 'most interesting' part of an image is.
